Our grouting robot was made with the use of Fabricator, a design automation platform developed to significantly accelerate the development of robots. Fabricator's simulation-based reinforcement learning capabilities enabled us to explore countless design iterations virtually, leading to an optimized and efficient robot design. This significantly shortens the timeline from concept to deployment through automation and optimization in design and development.
We chose to develop our first and subsequent robots in the making within the construction industry due to the rapidly aging labour force as younger workers do not like entering the construction industry, especially in developed countries. The construction industry’s productivity has also stagnated in the last few decades, presenting an opportunity for technological arbitrage
